In early November Tessa Paxton represented JCS in the high jump event at the State Athletic Championships held in Sydney.
Tessa competed strongly in the school and regional based competitions in the lead up to the state round and is to be highly commended for her efforts in her selection into these championships.

My family and I drove to Sydney for the State Athletics Carnival at Sydney Olympic Park. I was competing in Jr Girls high jump.
There were 38 competitors in my event from all over NSW. I had to wear a special uniform to show I was representing the South Coast.
There were a lot of people there watching. Everyone was really encouraging, in the crowd and the other competitors. I achieved my highest jump in a competition, so I was really happy with how I went.
It was great knowing my family were there watching. It was extra special, as because it was in Sydney, my Grandparents, Aunty & Cousin were able to come and watch me too! My class had also sent me a 'good luck' message before my event which was so awesome!
A huge highlight for me was meeting Brandon Starc. He has equalled the Australian Record at high jump at 2.36m. which is 1.06 metres higher than mine!
