Jindabyne Central School, with generous support from both Thredbo and Perisher, have organised a comprehensive Snowsports Development Program for Term 3. The program is an optional experience for students. Students who do not participate in the Snowsports Program, will continue with an alternative and engaging program of work at school.
The aim of the program is to develop the snowsports abilities and skills of participants in their chosen discipline, or co-operative enrichment through skills provided through the alternate program at school.
The Kindergarten to Year 2 program runs over three consecutive days at both Perisher and Thredbo. Dares for 2022 are to be determind.
The Year 3, 4 and 5 program will run in Week 4 of Term 3: Monday 8th August – Friday 12th August 2022.
The permission notes for these programs are on-line and information can be found on the Notes tab on this website (or through the Enews App) to view a copy and to submit your child's attendance.
Both programs will include 4 hours of on-snow ski instruction and a lunch break in Thredboland / Perisher Kids facility.
Snowboarding will be offered to children in K-2, however children are required to have participated in a prior snowboarding program, at Perisher or Thredbo and be of an intermediate standard. Minimum numbers are required for this disciple to go ahead.
Travel to and from the Resorts will be by bus. The program fits within normal school time to ensure no impact upon student travel to/ from school.
The program is a snow sports program and is operated regardless of wet weather.
Cost does not include any hire of equipment; parents must organise and arrange these themselves.
