The opening of the JCS Gym was also a great opportunity to celebrate the sporting achievements of a former Year 12 student and Snowboarding athlete Adam Lambert in front of the whole school.
Adam Lambert is now on target to represent Australia in Snowboarding at the Winter Olympics in Korea in March 2018 following his amazing international success during the 2016/17 winter season.
While Adam is well known at the National Level he was unknown on the International Snowboard Cross circuit. However he certainly became well recognised after producing outstanding results overseas including winning the Europa Cup. This win earned him the right to represent Australia at the World Cup where he achieved four Top 10 performances against the best in the world.
Ski and Snowboard Australia recently awarded Adam Junior Snowsports Athlete of the Year where he was chosen against seven other Snowsports athletes.
Mr Cooper congratulated Adam on his award and interviewed him on his road to success to help inspire other students to strive for their personal best.
The recognition of Adams efforts presented a great opportunity to announce another new program coming to JCS this term, the ‘Little Shredders' snowboard program. Adam will be teaming up with Mr Greg Cox on the basketball court during PE lessons to deliver the Little Shredders program teaching primary students snowboarding.
