Year 8 Camp

Year 8 attended Berry Sport and Recreation Camp for three days on the South Coast from the 8th to the 10th of May.  The days were filled with outdoor activities and challenges such as a Rogaine course within the grounds and along the Broughton Creek. Archery, canoeing along the Broughton Creek, cable gliding and various recreational activities such as tennis and basketball were also part of the activities.

Indoor activities consisted of a climbing wall and vertical challenge. Students were lucky enough to encounter wonderful warm weather with sunny days and clear nights.

The group had various team building experiences during the night activities including a games night and night walk along the creek where they formed groups and each built a very successful bomb fire and made their own dampers which they cooked on sticks and ate with maple syrup.

Despite the long trip students enjoyed the drive through the Kangaroo Valley and up along the coast. The McDonalds stop at Goulburn was huge hit! Congratulations to the Year 8 group that showed exceptional behaviour and pride in representing JCS at the highest standard. Many thanks to Mr Rudd and Mrs Kowaleski for attending the camp and showing us all how to cable glide with style.
