Earlier this year, Torah auditioned for a coveted spot in the ensemble and impressed the judges with her skills and passion for dance. The NSW Public Schools State Dance Ensemble, a prestigious dance program organised by the NSW Department of Education - The Arts Unit, provides a platform for public school students from Years 4 to 12, to rehearse and perform alongside their peers who possess a high level of technical proficiency.
The main objective of the ensemble is to expand and enhance students' dance experiences by exposing them to various dance styles and teaching approaches. Torah will have the privilege of working closely with a team of experienced tutors from professional and dance education backgrounds. These mentors will guide and nurture the ensemble dancers, fostering their growth in dance technique, performance, and composition. Collaborating with like-minded students, Torah will train and rehearse dance works in preparation for two major performances: the State Dance Festival in September and the Schools Spectacular in November.
